AIDA Cruises is one of the fastest growing and economically most successful tourism companies in Germany. With around 9,000 employees from 40 countries, AIDA Cruises operates and markets a highly modern fleet and is the market leader in the German cruise market. The current boom in the cruise industry and the resulting very strong growth of the company also brought new challenges for Group planning. Previous spreadsheet solutions in the form of elaborate spreadsheets were neither up to date nor did they provide the flexibility required for planning over a 10-year period. Changes to plans or the introduction of new measures represented a disproportionate amount of work.
