When Nike Schnitker dances, it is mainly on the real estate floor of the capital. However, the working student also feels that she is in good hands in the human resources area at Valsight. How many times can you fail at finding an apartment? At the age of 21, I have already managed twice to make a new start in a foreign city without a permanent residence. After my months-long search for an apartment in Düsseldorf failed and I only moved into my first own apartment three months after starting my studies, I was actually sure: Next time it will work out better. I’ve already been couch-hopping and living out of a suitcase. Maybe that’s why I’m taking my second experience with homeless relocation, in Berlin quite calmly.
My flight from Düsseldorf to Vitória in Brazil took about 20 hours. From the German winter to the South American summer. The mandatory internship for my degree program was to be a very special experience for me. I wanted to take this opportunity to go abroad and discover a very unconventional country. Brazil was a big challenge for me but also the best time of my life and a formative experience. To live only 30 minutes from the sea and to have every day the certainty that the sun and high temperatures will sweeten my day. I miss that to this day and I can’t wait to fly back as soon as possible.
When I was 11 years old, I discovered a hobby for myself that will probably accompany me my whole life. The dancing. It all started with a hip hop class in the small town where I grew up. After only a few months I was on stage for the first time, after which I competed nationally and internationally for almost 4 years, and then at the age of 16 I began to give courses myself. For me, dancing is much more than just a sport. It is the greatest expression of passion, brings people together and can make us forget everything around us.
